This vibrant lemon yellow 50L bin with retro design receives praise for its striking appearance and quality. Customers said it "makes me smile" and adds "a ray of sunshine" to kitchens. However, one customer noted concerns about functionality: difficulty depositing food, cumbersome bag removal, and inadequate odor containment on warm days.

This is a beautiful bin that is also entirely impractical. This is for three main reasons.

1. Depositing food into the bin is hard. Because of the way the push lid works, you need to hold it open with one hand, and then somehow maneuvre the bowl/plate inside and scrape it with the other. It feels needlessly cumbersome and it's easy to make a mess.
2. Emptying the bin is a pain. This is because you need to remove the entire outer shell to get to the bin bag.
3. The bin doesn't contain the smell of bin. Especially on warm days, the smell will circulate around the room because the lid doesn't hold it in.

Given the extremely premium price point, it's disappointing that the bin isn't able to manage some of the basic functions that a £20 alternative can. We'll be using it as a recycling bin and buying a cheap, functional bin for the kitchen.
